I don't know if anyone noticed, but I removed all traces of "songfic-ness" from IWYTNM. I figured nobody was reading the lyrics and nobody cared, so I took them out. However, I will still keep the title. And I just have to give Celine Dion credit, she kicks ass. ^^ Without her song, I would have never gotten the inspiration to write this. If you want to skim through the lyrics, go here. I recommend you do that right after I'm finished this series, because it'll make more sense. Trust me. ^_~

Also, regarding the G/CC tidbit; you know the famous movie quote, "Build it and they will come."? Well, it sort of came to me as "Write it and they will review." (which is kind of cheap ^^;), plus I find G/CC to be an incredibly kawaii couple and I always end up writing about them anyways. Who wouldn't? :) Anyways, Goku's sudden arrival will (kind of) tie in with this fic, and the sequel I'm writing after this.

Leaning her head back on the seat, Marron tapped her fingers on the side of the car idly, sorting through the barrage of thoughts running through her head.

Trunks..

Trunks' handsome face appeared in her mind, wearing its usual roguish grin. His lavender hair.. his clear blue eyes.. His nose was stuck up in the air, giving a noble, yet arrogant air to him. He looked so much like his father it scared her, yet.. he was completely different. No wonder those girls always chased after him.

Goten..

A smile pulled itself onto her lips as the spiky haired saiya-jin practically zoomed into her thoughts, replacing any of Trunks. His goofy smile shone at her with its own special brightness, a seemingly permanent trait of the Son family. Everything about Goten seemed to be so carefree and.. beautiful. So utterly beautiful.

Marron blinked. Where did that come from? Goten? Trunks? Gotenks? Her head hurt. She knew this was all wrong. All wrong. Who did she want? Who wanted her? All she wanted was someone.. anyone..

*flashback*

It was 11:53 PM, almost the morning of April 16th. To call the weather outside "rain" would be like calling an earthquake a "hiccup". Satan City was literally soaked to the bone. The streets were empty, cold and bare, but downtown, there was a huge party...

Marron was on a date with one of Trunks' friends, another one of his lame attempts to set her up with someone. It started with an.. R.. wait no, a K. Keijii, that was his name. Neat blonde hair, sparkling green eyes, tall. He was very nice at first, joking with her and kissing her hand. At the party, Keijii insisted that Marron drink some beer, but she had politely turned it down. By midnight, everyone in the club was drunk except for a select few, which included Marron. The last she saw of her "date" was on the floor, passed out.

Disgusted and overwhelmed by the rank smell of vomit, sweat and beer-- Marron headed for the entrance. A hand grabbed at her arm, she whirled around.

"Where you goin' pretty?" Keijii slurred, his green eyes looked up and down Marron's figure in a way that made her feel uncomfortable.

"Home." Marron muttered under her breath. She tugged her arm away from Keijii, or at least, tried to.

"I don't think so..." Keijii tightened his grip on Marron's arm and his other arm encircled her waist. He pulled her closer to him, smiling oddly. "What a catch."

Marron's breathing quickened. She blinked, a million possibilities of what might happen at that moment running through her mind frantically, accompanied by a few rather gruesome death plans for Trunks. "Let me go." She tried to squirm out of his grip, but that only made him pull her even closer.

He leant down to kiss her neck, backing her into a dark corner of the club. "Shut up."

"Let me g--!!"

Marron's head turned to the side abruptly, her cheek stinging. Keijii had just hit her. "I said shut up, whore."

Marron's eyes widened. The million possiblities had just narrowed down to one. A strange noise came from her throat, as her mouth went dry. She tried to touch the offended part of her face with her hand, only to find that Keijii was pinning her against the wall. She squeezed her eyes shut, remembering what her papa had told her once..

Krillin held his 11 year old daughter in his arms, staring out at the ocean.

"You're growing up to be a pretty lady..." he said softly, stroking her blonde hair gingerly.

Marron smiled up at her papa. "I know."

He chuckled to himself. "Just don't go getting yourself into trouble."

Marron blinked. "What do you mean?"

He kissed her on the forehead. "What I'm saying Marron, is that a pretty lady like yourself should be more careful.."

She wrinkled her nose. "I'm not going to get killed or anything papa, sheesh!"

Krillin's expression suddenly grew dead serious. "If you're ever in trouble Marron, you just yell for help and we'll be there, you hear?"

Marron looked up at her papa, he looked so serious.. She squeezed his hand tightly. "Okay papa."

If she was anywhere else, she would have smiled at the memory-- but she wasn't. In fact, Keijii's rather smelly breath was starting to make her feel slightly nauseous. She wrinkled her nose in distaste. Keijii noticed this and gave her a cold glare.

Squirming a bit, she took a deep breath.

"PAAAAAPPPPAAAAA!!!!!!!!"

Keijii immediately slapped his hand over her mouth and snarled at her. "What do you think you're doing sweetie?"

Marron gulped, half-afraid, half resisting the urge to bite his hand off.

On the other side of town..

Goten was walking down the sidewalk, hand in hand with Paresu. They were both smiling, although they were both soaked and getting more drenched by the second.

"Goten-chan, do you think..."

Goten's ears perked up. He thought he had heard something. It sounded like a scream.. Althout in this part of Satan City, it was normal for screams to be heard.. Goten shuddered. But it sounded kind of familiar..

"Goten-chan? Are you listening?"

Goten looked up at Paresu and sweatdropped, his hand coming up behind his head nervously. "Well.. I--"

He froze in mid-sentence, horror and realization dawning on him. Marron! That's who the voice belonged to!

He kissed Paresu on the cheek. "I'm sorry Paresu, but I have to go now-- I'll see you later, okay?" With that, he took off.

His sentence was rather rushed, and his kiss meaningless. Paresu was left stranded in the rain, staring at Goten's fading ki trail. She sighed.

"Goten-chan..."

Goten bit his lip. Please be okay.. Please be okay.. he thought frantically. He put on a burst of extra speed and his dark hair suddenly turned a blazing gold. He zeroed in on her ki signature, it appeared to be fading..

He spotted the club and almost flew through the front door. "Marron?" He looked around.

Marron looked up, although it was a bit hard considering Keijii was trying to kiss her. He growled in frustration.

She gulped. "Goten..?"

Goten's eyes flew over to the dark corner where Keijii and Marron were. "Marron!" He rushed over to her, effortlessly knocking Keijii away.

"Are you okay?" he asked her. She looked up at him and he gasped. There was a bruise on her left cheek, and she was looking very pale. She collapsed in his arms suddenly, keeling over.

"Marron.." he murmured. He heard a groan behind him as Keijii got up. Setting Marron on the floor gently, he growled, turning around.

"You hit Marron."

Keijii glared at him, his eyes still hazy from all the alcohol he had consumed. "So?" he spat out, "The whore deserved it."

Keijii found himself on the floor, his stomach feeling like it had a hole in it. He groaned, right before passing out.

Goten dropped out of super sayia-jin and picked up his best friend carefully, holding her in his arms closely. He walked out of the club, making sure to kick Keijii extra hard on his way. He took to the air, preparing to blast off to Kame House.

Marron made a soft noise, snuggling closer to Goten. He froze, looking down at her. Despite the bruise on her face, she was really beautiful.. Prettier than Paresu even. Her hat was gone and her unbound hair curled up around her face, giving her the image of an angel. A small smile was on her lips now.

Goten stared down at Marron, not knowing why he was thinking such things..

You have Paresu baka! he scolded himself. But looking down at her face.. he found himself wishing he had never met Paresu. He bit his lip.

Tearing his eyes away from Marron, he started his flight to the Kame House.

Somewhere in the middle of the trip, Marron had woken up without Goten noticing. She blinked. Goten..? she thought to herself, why is he here? What am I doing here? Owww... why does my head hurt?

She looked up at Goten again. There was a serious expression on Goten's face, which made her giggle. Serious and Goten in the same sentence just didn't make sense.

Goten heard her giggling and looked down at her. Her crystal blue eyes sparkled with amusement and her grin widened when she saw the look on Goten's face.

Goten raised an eyebrow. Women. He glanced at the bruise on her cheek. "Are you okay..?"

Marron's eyebrows knit in confusion, wondering what he meant-- before remembering what had happened. She looked down, a blush spilling over her cheeks.

"... thank you Goten..." she said quietly.

Goten smiled down at her. "No problem." All his frenzied thoughts from before came back to him, and he just waved them all away. "It was worth it."

Marron looked up at Goten again. Did he...? "I--"

"--we're here." Goten interrupted her. He set her down on the front porch on the Kame House carefully, as if she was a delicate china doll.

Tears came to her eyes unexpectedly. He's so sweet.. Marron threw her arms around Goten's neck and pulled him closer, wrapping him in a tight embrace.

Goten's eyes widened for a moment, before he encircled her waist with his arms and hugged her back.

The two stayed like that for awhile, before the door flew open-- revealing a frantic Juuhachigou and Krillin. They broke away from each other, staring in one another's eyes before turning to look at Marron's parents.

"Marron!" Juuhachigou cried out, taking the 18 year-old blonde into her arms. "We were so worried!" she sobbed out, the beautiful android's tears streamed down her face and Krillin hugged his daughter tightly, rocking her back and forth.

Bewildered, Marron patted her parents on the back. "Shhh.. Shhh mama.. I'm okay..." she said softly, brushing a few tears away from her mother's eyes. She had never seen her mother cry before..

"What's that?" Krillin asked, noticing her bruise. His expression grew from confusion to anger. "Who did it?"

Juuhachigou looked up and could only stare at it. She soon adopted the same manner as Krillin.

"It's nothing-- it's alright! He was just really drunk, but Goten--" Marron started, turning around to point to Goten, but he was gone. "Goten?"

Her parents still looked uncertain, but took her inside the house.

A few hours passed, and after a long talk with their daughter, Juuhachigou and Krillin decided to retire for the night.

Marron ran a hand through her hair and sighed. What a day.

Suddenly, the phone rang. Marron jumped before answering it.

"Moshi moshi?"

"Marron?"

Marron's eyes lit up. "Goten?"

"Are you okay?" Marron felt strangely disappointed. Was that all he wanted..?

"Yeah, I am. Just a little tired."

"Marron?"

"What?"

"I.. I.. I'll see you tomorrow, okay? I have something important to tell you.."

Marron blinked. "Umm.. okay."

"Bye Marron. Sweet dreams."

*click*

Goten did see Marron the next day and next and the next, but he never told her what it was that was so important...

*end flashback*

"Goten..." Marron whispered, as if saying his name would bring him there.

Well actually, it kind of worked, because at that particular moment, Goten and Trunks chose to come flying into the car.

Trunks landed right in middle of Bra and Marron while Goten sat beside Pan. Marron let out a small "Eeep!" and scooted over to make room for Trunks.

Bra let out a little huff. "It's about time 'niichan-- what were you and Pan doing back there anyways?"

Trunks and Pan both blushed, keeping quiet. Goten raised an eyebrow at this. Marron was oddly silent, as was Uub.

Exasperatedly, Bra waved her hand around. "Hello people?! Why are we so quiet? It's not like the world's getting destroyed again!"

Trunks smiled. "You never know."

Bra rolled her eyes. "Get a life 'niichan."

Everyone heard a loud rumbling. They turned towards Goten, who put a hand behind his head sheepishly. "Uhh.. can we go to the food court first? Eh heh heh.."

***

Once they reached the mall, they seperated into 2 groups. The girls went shopping for clothes and the guys went straight to the food court. Marron could have sworn she saw Pan kiss Trunks on the cheek before they parted.

Bra lead the two girls straight to the first boutique. "We are going to rock this mall!" Bra said, an evil gleam in her eye. Marron smiled. It was always like this..

"Who first?" Pan asked.

Bra looked at Pan and Marron, back and forth.. "Hmmmm... I think we should shop for me first..." Bra announced, smirking. "Shouldn't take too long."

Pan and Marron scoffed. Bra was the shopping queen, and although she had very good taste-- she was extremely picky. It took hours to find the "perfect dress designed for the princess' liking", as Bra put it. They sighed and started following Bra, who already had a huge pile of clothes in her arms.

Bra stuck her head out from under the pile and smiled at them. "What are you waiting for?"

They rolled their eyes, took a small portion of the pile and headed towards the dressing room.

Goten, Trunks and Uub were sitting at a table in the middle of the food court. Uub was blushing, trying to hide behind his napkin because so many people were staring at their table. Goten and Trunks were having an eating contest, although it was hard to tell who was winning.

"Aimph Emf!!" Goten said with a mouthful of fried rice, standing up.

Trunks glared up at him and swallowed. "No fair Goten-- you started with an empty stomach!"

Goten too, swallowed and grinned at Trunks. "You're just jealous."

Trunks raised an eyebrow. "Of being a pig?"

Uub cleared his throat. "Errr... shouldn't we look for the girls?"

Goten and Trunks turned to Uub, eyes wide. "Are you kidding?"

Uub sweatdropped. What was wrong with the girls? "Err.. no."

"THEY'RE SHOPPING MONSTERS!!!" Goten and Trunks roared at him.

Uub sweatdropped again.

"Ahem.. Well, we could--" Trunks was interrupted by the ringing of his cell phone. He opened it.

"Moshi moshi?" he asked.

"Trunks! Oh thank Kami! You have to tell Bra something!" His mom's voice said breathlessly, sounding a little stressed.

"'kaasan? Where are you? Tell Bra what?"

"I'm in New York, with your otousan-- but that's not important. You need to tell Bra that she has to cancel her party--"

"--what!?" Trunks' jaw dropped to the floor. If he told his sister that, she would beat him to a bloody pulp! He shuddered, hating to think about an angry Bra.

"Let me finish Trunks. The Capsule Corporation Galla is being held on the same day as her party-- and since I can't make it, you and your sister have to represent us!"

"But.. why Bra?"

"Because!! It's a media thing! I really don't have time to explain Trunks-- just tell her!!!"

Trunks sweatdropped. His mom was scary when she was stressed. "Okay 'kaasan.. just.. leave it to me.." Trunks knew he would hate himself in the morning for saying those words.

He heard a sigh of relief from the other end. "Thank you Trunks, now make sure you get your new tuxedo! I saw what happened to your last one and I will not let you wear those rags to the galla!"

He sighed and muttered. "Yes 'kaasan."

*click*

Goten and Uub stared at Trunks.

"What was that?" Goten questioned.

Trunks ran a hand through his hair, something he often did when he was tense. He recounted the conversation with his mother to them.

"... so, we're all going to get our tuxedoes now-- okay?"

"Us?" Uub looked at Trunks nervously, "I've never worn one before!"

"I'm not wearing one of those stupid monkey suits! They look.. uncomfortable!" Goten whined.

Trunks smacked his forehead with his hand. "You're wearing one or else." He growled at them before getting his cell phone and dialing Bra's number.

He was going to regret this..

Bra twirled around, admiring her reflection in the mirror. She was wearing a pair of tight jeans that had slits on the sides up to her thigh and a tan-colored low V-neck that made it seem like she wasn't wearing a shirt at all.

Pan shifted in her seat, frowning at Bra's choice of clothing. It didn't look very comfortable.

Marron blushed. "Bra... don't you think that it's a little too.. y'know?"

Bra looked down at her outfit, then at Marron. "I should have gone for the mini skirt, right?"

"No! Never mind!" Marron sweatdropped.

"Not like it would have made a difference." Pan muttered.

A ringing disrupted the odd conversation between the 3, it was Bra's cell phone.

Bra took it out of her purse and opened it. "Moshi moshi?"

"...Trunks?" Pan and Marron perked up at the said name. "What is it?"

Pan and Marron looked at Bra, hearing the faint sound of Trunks' garbled voice from the cell phone. They weren't prepared for Bra's sudden outburst.
