I'll be with you forever

Konbanwa, minna! ^_^ Well, this is my first T/P romance story. It was originally T/M, but I disided to change Marron to Pan so I won't get flamed. Hey, I'm stressed out enough as is! -_-; There will be a few spelling errors, cause my english spelling sucks. Well, Read on! Oh, before I forget, I don't own Dragonball. Akira Toyiama and TOEI do. so don't sue, 'cause I'm broke ;_; If you want to read my T/M version, go to: http://www.geocities.com/trunksandmarron/dreams.html Happy reading! ^0^

Pan sat on the beach outside the Kame house, her legs drawn to herself and her arms wrapped around her, curling into a ball to protect her from the cool night air. Her parents, along with everyone else, were inside at a reunion, but Pan was in no mood for happiness. She looked out at the water, the moonlight reflecting off the waves of the endless blue velvet that surrounded her island. The soft breeze blew by, her raven colored hair began to sway softly, as if dancing to a slow, steady beat. The sky was cloudy, only a few peaks of light shown down, causing Pan's eyes to sparkle like diamonds. She no longer remembered how long she had been sitting there, time seemed to fly away out of her clutches. She swallowed, trying to get rid of the huge lump in her throat, as another tear rolled down her pale cheek.

"Trunks-kun..." She half whispered, half rasped. Half of her had died that day, that miserable destrouction had eaten away her soul, all was left was her physical state, in which she was petrifyed. She had lost track of how many days ago the distruction was, maybe it had been weeks and months ago. Whatever the matter, she knew he was gone.

She remembered what happened clearly. While he was at work, the inventors were busy with equipment, inventing obsticles that would help the world around them. But one man had cut the wrong wire on a robot.

That's all it took. One measily cut of the wrong wire, and the whole building blew up, burned to the ground. Everyone was killed instantly; everyone but Trunks. He staggered out of the building, just barely clinging to life, and passed out, right there. He was rushed to the hospital, but the doctors claimed he lost too much blood. He died in a matter of hours. When one doctor came in, they found a tiny box had fallen out of his coat pocket. Inside was an engagement ring; he was planning on proposing to her that night.

Pan felt another tear roll down her face. 'Why?' She thought miserably. 'Why why why why why?? Goddammit, why??' Those were the only words on her mind, all jumbled up in a pool of misery, lost hope and anger swirling inside her head. She felt her ki rise. She clutched a handful of sand, and squeezed it until it broke her skin, a thin trikle of blood dropping onto the white sand, staining it a crimson color. She barely felt a thing. 'What did I do?!' She thought angrily. 'What did I do to deserve losing the one guy I ever truley cared about?!?!'

"You didn't do anything, Pan," A voice from beind her whispered. Pan gasped and spun around. No one was there.

"Who-Who's there?" She stammered. "Tosan? Kaasan? is that you?"

No reply.

Pan sighed, her fear draining and the lost hope filling. God would she do anything to see his smile one last time. She sat back down, crosslegged, and just stared out at the ocean again. She turned her head slightly, and looked over at the palm tree she and Trunks had carved their initials in a year back. That was the same tree she first kissed him under. Her vision became blurry and she felt the hot tears well up in her eyes.

"Don't cry, my angel," The soft voice whispered again. She reckonized the voice. She stood up hastily.

"Trunks! Where are you?!" She yelled, spinning around.

"I'm right here." Pan turned and saw him. It was him. Trunks had his back turned to her, he was wearing all black. He turned his head and smiled at her. Pan felt tears run down her cheek again, only these were ones of joy. Happiness filled her heart as she ran over and hugged him.

"Trunks! I can't believe it's you! You're back!" She squealed.

"Not quite," He said. "This is your dream. I've been granted permission to see you, but only for a matter of minutes."

Pan blinked. "But I'm awake, Trunks-kun," She said, confused. He shook his head.

"Look." He pointed over to a figure laying on the sand, her back facing them. It was herself. Pan gasped.

"I am dreaming!" Her face immediatly dropped. "But...that means you're not real."

Trunks shook his head. "No, this is really me." He smiled. "Pan, I've been watching you, everyday since I died.
I've never taken my eyes off you. I never did leave you. And I never will. That is my promise to you."

"Really?" She asked, not sure. "You've been with me this whole time?"

He nodded. "I have. Pan, it hurts me seeing you in pain. You have a life to live, you cannot mourn over me forever." Pan closed her eyes.

"But it hurts, Trunks-kun. It hurts..." She whispered, as another tear rolled down her cheek. Trunks wiped the tear away with his thumb. "Please don't cry, M'lady. I will always be with you, I will always be here." He said, pointing a finger to her heart. "I will always be with you."

Pan felt the warmth fill her again. She hugged him even tighter, feeling overwhelming joy. She pushed back and looked at him, his eyes were sparkling. She bent up on her toes, and kissed him softly. When they parted, she looked up at him again. They both smiled, and he started to fade.

"Ai shiteru, tenshi-chan," He whispered, before he faded comepletely.

*********

Pan groaned as she lifted her head, feeling the warmth of the sun on her face. She sat up and rubbed her eye, and looked about. She blinked.

"Oh my gosh, have I been out here all night?" She murmured to herself. She looked out at the ocean, and remembered the dream. Her heart sunk.

'Was it only just a dream? Did I only imagine that Trunks came back?'

She then felt simething jab her side. Annoyed, she reached into her pocked, and pulled out a small chain with a heart on the end. She reckonized the object immediatly, it was the same one she had givin him on his 29th birthday. She opened it and it started playing a soft tune, her favorite. She began to sing softly along side the tune.

She closed the locket softly after the song and clutched it close to her chest. A single tear fell down her cheek, but this time, she was smiling.

"Ai shiteru mo, Trunks-kun."
